Vega capabilities

A first list to plan your cuts

Vega gathers the cut lists of your weldments and prepares a basic cutting list in stock bars: a first proposal to estimate how many bars you need and organise the shop, which you review and complete with your own judgement.

Ask it like this

Every example is a real task done with Vega in SOLIDWORKS. Copy the request and try it with your own parts.

  • Cutting list of a building in 6 m bars

Vega gathers the cut lists of the weldments of the building, counting how many times each one is used, asks the stock length of each profile and prepares a basic cutting list with the shop sheet in Excel and PDF, to review.

    Request

Make the cutting plan of the open assembly in 6 m bars, with a 3 mm saw kerf, counting every time each profile is used. Leave the shop sheet in Excel and PDF.

Times and costs of the tasks in the videos are indicative: they depend on the size of the model and on what you ask for.

What Vega does

  • Gathers the cut lists of every weldment in the assembly, counting how many times each one is used.
  • Asks the stock length of each profile (6 m, 12 m or other) and suggests the last one you used.
  • A basic count of how many bars each profile needs, as a starting point.
  • Shop sheet in Excel (summary, bars and pieces) and in PDF with every bar drawn, ready for you to review and complete.
  • It is an aid to get started: check the layout and adjust it to your material, your saw and the way you work.
  • It doesn't change the model: it only reads the cut lists and prepares the list.

We'll show you Vega live, with your models and your way of working.
